Shapwick Squirrels is a small friendly preschool group for children aged 2 to 5 years. We are open every morning 9.30am-12.30pm with an optional lunchtime session until 1.30pm on some days. We meet in Shapwick Village Hall and are able to take advantage of the amenities of the village such as the church and cricket club. We have a staff of 5, with 3 qualified to Level 2 or above. Our Supervisor has a Master's Degree in Preschool and Primary Education. With a small group and a high adult:child ratio we are able to help each child develop to their full potential. We believe in working closely with parents and invite them to visit whenever they like. We work towards the Early Learning Goals in the six areas of learning and provide a variety of both structured and independent activities for children to explore. We also host a Toddler Group one morning per week which helps children to settle in and get to know staff and children.
